ABOUT IVORY PEAKS

Ivory Peaks is the brainchild of Lydia Smith and her desire to share knowledge and her passions.

She's an advocate for encouraging people to live life to their fullest potential, making dreams & goals happen, advocating for mustang adoptions and bringing better light to hunting which is being heavily attacked these days.

About Lydia Smith:

I grew up in Idaho Falls, ID in a family of six. My family didn't have horses and never hunted, so much of what I do now, I had pursued on my own. Doing so taught me independence and patience, how to be appreciative and adaptable, and it's molded me through the years to become my most authentic self.

My world has revolved around hunting for the last 8 years, and the outdoors & horses for the last 20+ years. From a very young age I wanted to spend every second I could outside, whether that was going camping, boating, horseback riding, traveling, or just wandering around. And from that young age, my interest for hunting started from watching shows about Mountain Men and Native Americans. I was fascinated by that lifestyle of surviving with what the world gave you. No stores, no internet, no restaurants. Just nature and what it had to offer. Obviously that lifestyle is very difficult. But that's just one of the many reasons why I love it.

My interest in hunting also sparked from the conservation side of things and everything it actually did in benefit for the animals and the land around it. That was something I deeply wanted to be apart of. I love the animals that roam this earth with so much of my heart, especially the elk. I've always connected with those creatures and want to protect them and keep them as healthy as they can be, and hunting is such an important part of making that happen.

I could honestly go on and on about why I hunt, but one other thing that really got me into hunting was the fact of providing for yourself and getting some of the most natural, clean and lean meat you could ever get. I never worry about protein. And while I may end up spending the same amount of money on hunting - if not more between the tags, gas and equipment versus buying some meat at a store... the quality, memories, experiences, effort and achievement you get from it is priceless.

I eagerly want to educate people on the good hunters do for the world. We are the number 1 contributors to conservation. Everything we do and so much of what we spend goes back into helping wildlife.

To tap into my horsey side of things, I've been involved with them since I was born. My direct family didn't have horses, but my aunt did and I spent every waking second of my childhood trying to go to her place and ride with my cousins. We grew up riding bareback in 20 acre fields. Those days brought many lessons and memories I'll never forget. When I turned 14, my mom & aunt got together to get me my first horse. An untouched Paso Fino yearling. He started the love I have for training/working with untouched horses. At 17 I adopted my first mustang, Kilchii, whom I still have to this day. In 2015 I entered into the Extreme Mustang Makeover(youth division) and was randomly selected this lanky sorrel 2 year-old. He ignited the passion I had for mustangs and has been the best horse I could've ever asked for. I've come to adopt several more due to their loyalty & versatility

Over the years I've been able to work with & train numerous horses of all breeds. While they all have their own qualities, there's just something about the American mustang I can't get over and have become a true advocate for people adopting them.

Other than the horses & hunting, I'm a wildlife artist, specializing in graphite. Both my other passions heavily inspire my artwork.

With my new found love of hunting and my born-with passion for horses & art, I merged them all together and it has swallowed me whole.

With this brand, I hope to educate, inspire, help and fuel other peoples passion's while also trying to support myself.
